BCSX Backups Privacy Policy

BCSX Backups is an internal backup and disaster-recovery service operated by Busia College of Science and Technology for the Busia College Systems Experience platform.

Purpose of Google Drive Access

BCSX Backups uses Google Drive only as an off-server storage destination for BCSX recovery backups. Google Drive access is used to create, store, verify, manage, and remove backup files generated by the BCSX backup service.

Google Data Accessed

The service is configured to request access only to Google Drive files created or managed by BCSX Backups. It is not intended to read or process unrelated personal files stored in the connected Google account.

Data Stored in Backups

BCSX recovery backups may contain application database records, uploaded files, protected institutional documents, and system configuration required to restore the BCSX environment.

Security

Backup data is prepared on BCST-controlled infrastructure. Off-server backup copies are intended to be encrypted before they are transferred to Google Drive. Access to backup systems and credentials is restricted to authorized technical personnel.

Data Sharing

BCST does not sell backup data or Google account data. Backup information is used only for system recovery, continuity, security, and authorized technical administration.

Retention and Deletion

Backup copies are retained according to BCST operational backup and recovery policies. Expired backup copies may be removed automatically as part of the configured retention process.

Revoking Access

The Google account owner may revoke BCSX Backups access through the Google Account security settings. Revoking access will prevent future off-server backups until authorization is restored.
